Liebster Blog Award

Liebster is a German word meaning dearest, and the award is given to up-and-coming bloggers with less than 200 followers. It was my honour to receive my award from the lovely and talented Emma Pass whose debut YA novel ACID is being published in 2013.

If you receive the award, you should:

1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your top five picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Hope that the people you’ve sent the award to forward it to their five favourite bloggers and keep it going!

This is the nice side of a chain letter. It’s always good to be appreciated and too often we are all quick to criticise and slow to praise. So here are some virtual pats on the back to five of my favourite bloggers.

1. My first choice is the wonderful Rachel Carter whose blog, A Voice Released, never fails to entertain and move me with the quality of her writing. She is also becoming quite an accomplished photographer and posts daily on her blipfoto journal, Off Centre.

2. Next choice is for the talented and passionate writer, Clare Kirkpatrick, a lady who I feel I have known much longer than a few months. As well as her personal blog, she blogs regularly for Mslexia and runs the Free Your Parenting website.

3. Sarah Callejo is choice number three. This Spanish lady not only writes well, she writes in English. I have problems with that and it’s my first language. Her blog examines some of the problems we all find as writers and I recommend her highly.

4. Next, I’d like to recommend Rebecca Brown to you. Her blog covers a wide variety of topics, all of which I love to read. She has her official author page and regularly produces podcasts where she interviews writers and others involved in children’s and YA literature.

5. Last, but by no means least, is the mysterious Mr Uku who blogs over at Will Write For Cake. He blogs about matters writerly and also created the incredibly useful The Writer’s Guide To Computer Stuff for all of us who find the techy side of writing a headache. He, too, is a photographer and is always incredibly helpful with anything you might ask him about. Apart from sharing the goodies in his Big Gay Cake Tin.

Many thanks again to Emma for this award.
