A few days ago I was showing my mum some of the pictures I took on our holiday to York in August. We got to the many, many pictures I took of meerkats at the wildlife park.

“Oh, look! That’s they wee things from the TV adverts. Annette, where do they come from?”

“Africa.”

“Are you sure? I thought it was Russia with they accents…”

Ah, the power of advertising.

Then we got to the pictures of the big cats.

“Oh, I love lions.”

Then she snorted. Snorted. Like a pig.

“That’s the noise a lion makes. I’m the King of the jungle!”

I think she needs a subscription to Animal Planet…
